Diversity of traditional dances Indonesia

Indonesia is blessed with an amazing cultural heritage in the form of dances. Dances n the Wayang performance in Java, involve fine, intricate movements.

            Traditional dances from Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and many other islands in Indonesia have movements in various styles and qualities which carry message or symbols about important aspect s of life. For a long time, people all over the world have admired the beauty of the various traditional dances of Indonesia.

            Dance has social, religious, and magical functions. In their social function, dances are performed for and during social function, for and during social event such as births, marriages, hunting wars etc.

            Indonesian traditional dances are commonly grouped in to three categories simple, folk, and classical. Simple dance have simple movements such as kicking, treading , body weaving and head shaking. The dancer also wears simple costumes and make up. Simple dance are commonly make performed in religious and magical purpose.

            In folk dance, dance movements are more arranged, there is more music, costumes, are more specialized and more makeup is used. Folk dances are commonly performed for social purposes.

            Classical dance stem from the aesthetic needs of the members and relatives of the royal families in the royal palaces. Classical dance are very fine and delicate n the movement , their musical themes and costumes used. Classical dance have the quality of being highly artistic and sophisticated.

            So we have to save this treasure because if not us whose can save this treasure and we have to introduce this proud to any place and anywhere without Indonesia.
