Rancaekek is my hometown. It is a part of east Bandung and it is quite from the capital city of Bandung. So, it will take so long time to get city. Luckily, there is a railway station for the people to go to the other places. Rancaekek consists of many fields and fish ponds. Actually, Rancaekek is just a little place of Bandung but it is famous to another places because it has some specific characteristics.
First, Rancaekek is famous as a place which has many factories. There are many factories in Rancaekek, such as textile factory, cigarette, snack, and many more. Hence, most of people there work in those factories. On the other hand, the presence of them make the condition crowded. It is because the more factories the more employees, and it makes the traffic jam in every morning. The worst condition usually happened in the last month when the employees were paid, because there will be local market.
Beside the factor of factories, Rancaekek is recognized as the place that always flooded after the rain. If the rain came, many places there will be flood. Sometimes it makes traffic jam, too. In addition, flood also makes the roads of Rancaekek broken and makes hole in many places. It is very danger and caused the accident. That is why flood becomes second characteristic of Rancaekek.
As the third, Rancaekek not only famous because of factories and flood, but also because there lies the largest regency of eastern Asia. It is Bumi Perumahan Rancaekek Kencana where I live with my family. Kencana Regency consists of many blocks and roads. It lies about -- km from first gate into second. So that it becomes occupation for some people to get money by pedalling a pedicab as transportation tool among blocks there.
Those are characteristics of my home town, Rancaekek. I think it is not such a bad idea if you ought to visit it sometime.
